About Empeon

Empeon is a Human Capital Management platform built specifically for healthcare organizations, including skilled nursing facilities, home care agencies, and other providers with complex workforce needs.

Our platform supports the full employee lifecycle, including payroll, time and attendance, scheduling, human resources, benefits, applicant tracking, and reporting. Our strength is our deep understanding of the healthcare industry and the operational, regulatory, and workforce challenges our clients face.

About the Role

Empeon has dedicated Product Owners and Business Analysts supporting each of our major product areas. We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner to lead strategic initiatives that span multiple products, strengthen the platform as a whole, and advance innovation across the organization.

This role will take ownership of cross-module and platform-level initiatives that do not naturally fall within a single product team. These may include shared system capabilities, integrations, platform improvements, and AI-powered features.

We are looking for someone who is not only technically strong and highly organized, but also an innovatorβ€”someone who actively identifies opportunities, develops ideas, evaluates emerging technologies, and turns them into practical products that create measurable value for clients.

The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience delivering AI or intelligent software capabilities and will be comfortable leading initiatives from early discovery through production release.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead platform-wide and cross-module initiatives that require coordination across multiple product and engineering teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the overall Empeon experience through shared capabilities, better workflows, integrations, and AI.
  • Own the discovery, definition, prioritization, and delivery of innovative product initiatives.
  • Develop and advance AI-powered features that solve meaningful client and operational challenges.
  • Translate complex business and technical needs into clear product requirements, workflows, data mappings, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead technical discovery for integrations and initiatives involving multiple systems, vendors, clients, or internal stakeholders.
  • Review support tickets, CRM data, client feedback, and recurring operational challenges to identify systemic product opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, UX, Engineering, Customer Success, Operations, clients, and external partners.
  • Build business cases and recommendations based on client value, strategic impact, feasibility, risk, and implementation effort.
  • Maintain a clear roadmap for platform, innovation, AI, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives from concept through discovery, design, development, testing, rollout, and adoption.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in product ownership, product management, technical business analysis, or a related role within B2B SaaS.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering AI, machine learning, or intelligent product features into production.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, data mapping, authentication, permissions, system workflows, and technical dependencies.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and translate between business, product, engineering, clients, and external partners.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to distinguish meaningful innovation from technology used for its own sake.
  • A proactive and creative mindset, with a track record of bringing forward ideas, testing assumptions, and turning opportunities into actionable product plans.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to create clear requirements, decision documents, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to bring structure and direction to ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the confidence to make and communicate clear recommendations.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to influence stakeholders across teams without relying on direct authority.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in HCM, payroll, workforce management, healthcare technology, or another complex enterprise software environment.
  • Experience designing or delivering AI-assisted workflows, anomaly detection, intelligent recommendations, document processing, copilots, or conversational product experiences.
  • Experience building integrations with external vendors, partners, or client systems.
  • Experience using customer-support, CRM, or product-usage data to identify and prioritize product opportunities.
