At Preferred Risk, we provide technology innovation and support services for our 5 portfolio insurance companies and we're seeking a strategic and collaborative Sr. Product Owner. This newly created role will support and guide two Agile development teams focused on the Guidewire InsuranceNow platform - partnering closely with stakeholders across technology and business units to define and deliver high-impact features, prioritizing the backlog, and shaping the evolution of the Insurance Now platform to meet current and future business needs. This role -
- Is an individual contributor, serving as the customer proxy to the Agile teams
- will align delivery efforts with business goals and drive value across underwriting, policy, billing, and claims
- will take end-to-end ownership of the Insurance Now platform, as well as related applications
- is the final authority for decisions regarding priority, business value, and functionality for all the work done by the Agile development teams

Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Vision
- Serve as the primary business representative for the Guidewire InsuranceNow platform.
- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and priorities in alignment with enterprise objectives.
- Advocate for the platform's growth and capabilities through continuous enhancement and stakeholder alignment.
Backlog & Delivery Management
- Own and manage the product backlog for two Agile development teams.
- Prioritize features and user stories based on business value, dependencies, and stakeholder input.
- Collaborate with teams on sprint planning, refinement, and demos to ensure delivery of high-quality, valuable increments.
- Define clear acceptance criteria and validate deliverables meet business needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Engage with business leaders, operations teams, and subject matter experts to gather requirements and translate them into actionable development items.
- Ensure that feedback loops between users and development teams are strong, timely, and meaningful.
- Promote platform adoption and usability by supporting change management and communications efforts.

Strategic Planning & Execution
- Monitor metrics, usage patterns, and feedback to inform enhancements and platform strategy.
- Support release planning, testing coordination, and issue triage across functional areas.
- Ensure platform configuration and development work align with compliance, regulatory, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in a Product Owner or business-facing technology leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with core insurance platforms (Guidewire InsuranceNow strongly preferred).
- Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry experience is required, particularly in underwriting, policy administration, billing, or claims.
- Deep familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative team environments.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex inputs into a clear set of priorities and features.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
- Proven track record in platform ownership and incremental delivery of enterprise technology solutions.

Estimated Compensation Range: $80,000-$120,000/year
*Published ranges are estimates. Offered compensation will be based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location. In addition, starting salary may vary by position depending on whether the position is in-office, hybrid or remote.
