Position Overview

The Product Owner is responsible for leading the product development process for our hearing aid fitting software. This includes prioritizing and managing the product backlog, collaborating with global stakeholders, and ensuring timely delivery of innovative solutions that improve hearing health outcomes.

You’ll serve as the bridge between business goals and engineering execution, turning requirements into actionable user stories and aligning teams around clear priorities.

  • Translate the product roadmaps into clear actionable features.
  • Participate in daily Scrum ceremonies, lead refinement sessions, and collaborate with implementation team.
  • Manage and groom the product backlog, prioritize features, and create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team.
  • Translate business priorities into technical requirements and engage in a hands-on way to ensure business objectives are met for PI. Β 
  • Conduct functional/operational analysis to identify key system requirements and dependencies.
  • Define systems of interest, including system boundaries, inputs, and outputs.
  • Write and review requirements and maintain system documentation across platform.
  • Participate in scope discussions and drive the requirements elicitation process, leading from user needs, business needs, and regulatory requirements into well-documented requirements suitable for product development.
  • Contribute to and create corporate procedures that are related to requirement management and system engineering.
  • Participate in defining best practices for all system and requirements engineering issues.

Competencies (Knowledge and Skills needed for this position.)

  • Ability to develop and document complex products and systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in engineering and product development
  • Demonstrate ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Ability to communicate across departments
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine requirements for the team

Desired Qualifications

Education: Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent, preferred.

Experience:

  • Strong technical understanding of requirements methodologies, tools and best practices
  • 5+ years of software engineering, product development or related experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in project delivery role
  • Experience in agile development (preferably SAFe)
  • Medical device experience preferred
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements and business processes in the medical device industry – or any other regulated industry

Pay Transparency Notice

  • The target annual salary for this position can range from $115,000- $120,000, with a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of the fiscal year-end.
  • Compensation for roles at GN depends on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience
