Location: Northbrook, IL (Hybrid) 3-4 days in office weekly. Candidates must be located within a commutable range to Northbrook, IL.Β

Position Summary

HuFriedyGroup is seeking an experienced Director of Marketing - Product Management to lead a team of Product Managers responsible for driving portfolio strategy, product innovation, commercialization, and profitable growth across a high-growth segment of our Dental business.

This leader will own the development and execution of product strategies informed by customer insights, market intelligence, competitive dynamics, and financial performance. The role will partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Marketing to define product roadmaps, optimize portfolio performance, and deliver innovative solutions that address customer needs and drive business results.

The ideal candidate brings deep product management expertise, strong commercial acumen, and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams while developing high-performing product organizations.Β 

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead the product strategy for a significant portfolio of products and solutions.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and portfolio gaps that drive growth.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Own product lifecycle management, from concept and commercialization through optimization and end-of-life planning.
  • Drive portfolio decisions based on customer insights, market trends, financial performance, and competitive intelligence.Β 

Innovation & Commercialization

  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to bring new products and solutions to market.
  • Translate customer and market requirements into product development priorities.
  • Lead product planning, forecasting, pricing strategy, and launch readiness efforts.
  • Drive innovation initiatives that create meaningful value for customers and differentiate the business in the marketplace.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers.
  • Build a high-performing product organization that balances strategic thinking with execution.
  • Establish clear objectives, accountability, and development opportunities for the team.
  • Foster a culture of customer-centricity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Β 

Market Intelligence & Customer Insights

  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization.
  • Analyze market dynamics, competitive activity, and industry trends to inform business strategy.
  • Partner with commercial teams and key customers to validate opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Translate market insights into actionable product and business recommendations.Β 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Marketing teams.
  • Influence strategic business decisions through data-driven recommendations and portfolio analysis.
  • Support successful product launches and ongoing portfolio optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment between product strategy and broader commercial objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Portfolio Management, Commercial Leadership, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading and developing Product Managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven success launching and commercializing products in complex business environments.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio management, product lifecycle management, pricing, forecasting, and commercialization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic business decisions.
  • Excellent analytical, financial, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in medical device, dental, healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience managing complex product portfolios and high-growth business segments.
