Position: Data Product Manager
Location: St. Paul, MN
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary
- Manage and lead data product initiatives, ensuring alignment between technical and business goals.
- Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, and data science teams to design, build, and implement data systems including pipelines, warehousing, modeling, and governance.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for stakeholders.
- Oversee data management activities, including data analytics, engineering, and quality control.
- Drive the implementation of modern data architectures and platforms, including internal and developer-facing products.
- Utilize analytics tools (e.g., dbt, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics) and SQL for data analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with data sharing agreements, privacy, and regulatory requirements, especially in highly regulated and public-sector environments.
- Lead modernization efforts of legacy data systems, including migration to cloud-based data lakes and curated enterprise datasets.
- Define and deliver scalable internal data products such as semantic layers, governed APIs, and shared data models.
- Implement and support enterprise data governance frameworks, including metadata standards, data lineage, quality controls, and stewardship models.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, prioritization, and communication across technical and policy teams.
- Support statistical analysis and compliance-driven reporting in regulated industries.
- Leverage significant experience with Databricks, and familiarity with Java and Python.
- (Preferred) Experience working with state government agencies and understanding compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).
- (Preferred) Proven ability to align diverse stakeholders to drive unified data strategy and adoption.
