Position Summary:
The Senior Underwriter/Product Manager for Cyber Lines of Coverage will play a critical role in underwriting and managing the development of cyber insurance products.
This position involves evaluating risks, developing pricing strategies, driving product innovation, and maintaining profitable growth while managing relationships with brokers and agents.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting:
- Assess and underwrite complex cyber insurance risks, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and profitability targets.
- Analyze and evaluate submissions, including financial data, risk assessments, and coverage needs, to determine appropriate pricing and terms.
- Collaborate with actuarial teams to refine pricing models and ensure accurate risk evaluation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cyber threats, technologies, and market trends to guide underwriting decisions.
Product Management:
- Lead the development and refinement of cyber insurance products, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market needs.
- Identify opportunities to expand product offerings, enhance coverage options, and address gaps in the marketplace.
- Partner with actuarial, legal, and IT teams to develop policy language and endorsements.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of cyber products, recommending adjustments as necessary to maintain profitability and relevance.
Broker and Client Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and key accounts to drive growth and retention.
- Provide training and guidance to distribution partners to deepen their understanding of cyber products.
- Support marketing efforts by participating in industry conferences, webinars, and presentations to promote cyber offerings.
Strategic Leadership:
- Contribute to the strategic vision for the cyber insurance portfolio, aligning with broader company objectives.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior underwriters and team members.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines in all underwriting and product development activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorβs degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of underwriting experience in cyber insurance or technology-related lines.
- Proven experience in product development or management within an insurance setting.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of cyber risk trends, including ransomware, data breaches, and privacy liabilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and familiarity with actuarial concepts.
Preferred Attributes:
- Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
- Familiarity with global cyber insurance markets and regulations.
