Senior Product Manager, Luau App Foundations

Luau is Roblox’s open-source evolution of the Lua scripting language. Roblox’s Luau App Foundations team defines the Luau architecture used by every Luau engineer at Roblox. Leading Product for this team, you’ll be directly responsible for Luau developer productivity and Luau codebase performance.

You will report to the Director of Product for Consumer Frontend. This role is based at HQ (no remote option open).

You will:

• Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Luau App Foundations team.
• Nurture a strong internal and external community of Luau engineers such that their feedback informs your roadmap and project prioritization process.
• Interface with customers across the company to provide your team with insights such that Luau app architecture can run ahead of customer needs.
• Project manage complex, cross-company programs that drive the adoption of new technologies developed by your team.
• Communicate product updates, milestones, and priorities effectively to stakeholders across the organization.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, finance, legal and other stakeholders to prioritize features and drive product development from concept to launch.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in gaming architecture and developer productivity to inform product priorities.

You have:

• 5+ years of Product Management experience with expertise in shipping high-quality technical or consumer products across multiple platforms.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency and effectiveness working closely with engineers.
• Experience defining, managing or driving adoption of internal capabilities or platforms.
• Experience working in at least one of the following areas:
• Javascript/Typescript/Lua (preferred) 
• Web/Application Frontend architecture
• Developer platforms
• Engineering efficiency
• Expertise in navigating platform product development, with deep experience in internal stakeholder management.
• A deep understanding of game architecture or write once, run everywhere, multi-platform delivery would be beneficial but is not a requirement.
• The ability to clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels.
• Proven ability to unite cross-functional teams, driving cohesive collaboration to deliver on ambitious goals, align products with stakeholder expectations, and conduct rapid experimentation to achieve measurable outcomes in the consumer tech space.
• Experience leading cross-functional execution with various teams including engineering, data science, design, marketing, partnerships, legal, and policy, to conceptualize, develop, test, and launch impactful communication tools tailored to user needs and preferences.
