Job Summary
Caliber Financial Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payments Product Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and managing our payment products and systems, ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient customer transactions. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will partner with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in payments, optimize existing processes, and support the companyβs strategic initiatives around funding, collections, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Payments Strategy
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging payment trends, technologies, and opportunities.
- Help define the payments roadmap, prioritizing features that improve transaction success rates, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience.
- Payments Product Development
- Collaborate with engineering, vendors, and data teams to support the development and integration of new payment methods, processors, and fraud/risk tools.
- Translate business requirements into clear product specifications and user stories specific to funding, disbursements, and repayment workflows.
- Assist in managing the full payments lifecycleβfrom ideation to implementation and optimization.
- Operational & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with operations, compliance, risk, and customer support teams to ensure payment systems run reliably and securely.
- Support product launches by coordinating with marketing, legal, and servicing teams to ensure smooth rollout and adoption.
- Provide clear communication of the payments vision, roadmap, and updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Customer & Data-Driven Focus
- Gather customer insights and analyze transaction data to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement in funding and repayment experiences.
- Monitor KPIs such as payment success rates, transaction times, customer adoption, and cost-to-serve.
- Continuously refine payments processes based on customer needs and performance outcomes.
- Regulatory & Risk Management
- Support compliance and legal teams in ensuring all payment solutions meet regulatory, security, and audit requirements.
- Help manage risk by identifying fraud trends and partnering with vendors and internal teams to implement controls.
- Performance Monitoring
- Define, track, and report on payments-related KPIs and metrics.
- Conduct post-launch evaluations to measure the success and impact of payment features and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- 1β2 years of experience in product management, financial services, or payments-related roles.
- Familiarity with payment processors, ACH, card networks, fraud/risk tools, or digital wallets is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and product management tools is a plus.
- Customer-focused, adaptable, and eager to grow in payments product management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
