Weβre looking for an expert technical product manager to lead Photoshopβs foundational architecture and performance strategy. This is a pivotal role responsible for evolving the core technologies that power Photoshopβs speed, stability, and future scalability across platforms.
Youβll drive major efforts to modernize our rendering and compute architecture, migrate legacy systems to more scalable platforms, and accelerate performance through GPU and hardware optimization. This work touches nearly every part of Photoshop, from canvas rendering to feature responsiveness to long-term cross-platform consistency.
This is a principal-level individual contributor role with the potential to grow a team in the future.
Own the vision and strategy for Photoshopβs foundational platform, ensuring our core architecture supports world-class performance, reliability, and innovation.
Lead execution of technical modernization efforts, rebuilding or migrating core systems to be more scalable, maintainable, and performant across surfaces.
Partner deeply with engineering, acting as the connective tissue between architectural work and customer value.
Define success metrics and prioritize work based on strategic impact, engineering effort, and customer experience improvements.
Build alignment across teams and functions, partnering with design, engineering, research, and other PMs to drive platform-wide improvements.
8β12+ years of product management experience, with at least 3β5 years passionate about technical platforms, performance, or infrastructure.
Experience as a Principal PM or Director-level IC, driving complex architectural initiatives in large-scale products.
Strong technical proficiency. Able to participate in architecture discussions, understand engineering tradeoffs, and communicate technical plans clearly.
Demonstrated success in modernizing legacy systems, driving platform transitions, or improving performance at scale.
Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
Experience with Photoshop or similar imaging tools. You understand how creative professionals work and care deeply about the performance and reliability of visual editing experiences.
Experience with creative tools, performance-critical applications, or C++-based platforms is a strong plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across severalβ― U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionβ―is $176,900 -- $321,700 annually. Payβ―within this range varies by work locationβ―and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,β―and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.Β Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
