Job Description:
The hybrid-remote Principal Product Manager, Mortgage Origination - Borrower Verifications and Qualification works closely with the clients, GSEโs, LOS/POS vendor partners and an internal team of Product Managers, Technology, Product Marketing & other stakeholders in developing strategies, market validation and roadmap for the next phase of growth of the AutomatIQ Borrowerยฎ platform.
AutomatIQ Borrower is a single solution for all borrower verification and qualification needs. It combines Verifications (such as VOEI, VOA, Tax Transcripts, SSA etc.) and Analysis (Income, Assets, Liabilities etc.) into an integrated platform with unmatched accuracy in handling both digital and physical documents across a spectrum of borrower profiles, from simple to complex.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on working knowledge of the tools and workflow for mortgage origination (Borrower-facing application process โ Verification of Income, Assets, Credit/Liabilities etc.), Qualification (Credit, Capacity, Collateral and Capital) and proven track record of working with Point of Sale (POS) systems such as Blend, Simple Nexus, Loan Origination Systems (LOS) such as Encompass, Empower and GSEโs (Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae) Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) and Rep & Warranty programs such as Fannie Mae Day 1 Certainty and Freddie Mac AIM.
Job Responsibilities:
Working with cross-functional teams to flush out all the relevant use cases, and the value to be delivered from the services assigned to the Product Managers.
Being the deepest knowledge expert within the organization related to the service area owned by the Product Managers, including
understanding the processes in place by mortgage lenders and how those processes will be transformed.
Create detailed user stories and requirements that are complete and unambiguous.
Manage the product backlog.
Create detailed acceptance criteria that QA can translate into test plans.
Lead agile ceremonies including grooming sessions and sprint planning.
Collaborate with development and architecture teams to remove obstacles that arise during the product lifecycle.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelorโs degree in business administration or related field.
10+ years of diverse financial services / mortgage banking experience preferred.
5+ years of mortgage end-to-end workflow, specific to borrower verification and qualification.
3+ years of solid working knowledge of Loan Origination Systems such as Encompass (ICE), Empower (Dark Matter), Mortgage Cadence etc.
Experience with GSE (Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae) AUS Systems (DU, LP, AIM and D1C frameworks) in a product manager capacity.
Experience gathering requirements, client-validation and feedback loop using workflow diagrams, wireframes, and quick prototyping tools such as Visio, Figma etc.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and group communication skills.
Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong communication skills and leadership presence to drive integration, provide influence, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to understand complex business and technical concepts and to be able to make good judgment decisions when faced with trade-offs.
Ability to work independently and maintain tight deadlines.
Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success, display orientation to profitability.
Experience with project development methodology (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, Extreme).
High degree of adaptability Ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to manage and execute within a complex and matrixed organization, assess optimal execution pathways.
Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred but not required
MUST HAVES:
Must Have Mortgage Origination experience.
Must be a Product Manager (CANNOT be an Underwriting manager, Business Analyst or a Project Manager).
Must either have started a career as a Loan Underwriter and moved into a Product Role or worked as a Product Analyst or a Product Manager at a mortgage company while building and developing a workflow/decision engine from scratch (NOT implementing an off-the-shelf LOS/POS tool).
Must have APIโs experience.
Must have Agile product development experience.
Annual Pay Range:
