Responsibilities

Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is seeking a Principal Product Owner. The Principal Product Owner will work as a member of our HxGN EAM Solution Design Team. This role will continuously engage with both internal and external functional teams to maintain a healthy product ecosystem. A key component of the Product Owner position is capturing requirements and creating artifacts that give clear direction to the development team. 

• Works with customers, prospects, and internal resources to acquire an understanding of the software system requirements and design specifications of the solution
• Breaks down high-level product design concepts into business requirements and detailed functional requirements for development
• Translate the business requirements into a functional product design and create detailed functional requirements for development to use to build the solution
• Participates in requirements prioritization and release scope definition
• Responsible to provide designs and input on coding, quality, and implementation considerations throughout the development lifecycle
• Communicates product designs to the assigned development and QA teams and work to resolve issues with the product specifications and test plans through the design review process
• Participates in design and test plan reviews to ensure that the business and functional requirements were interpreted correctly
• Identifies and recommends resolutions to problems with design processes to ensure software quality
• Provides domain knowledge/product knowledge to development and QA teams and as a subject matter expert on products to support groups such as marketing, documentation, training, support, field services and clients. This includes being an expert on the business processes, designs and specifications that are within their respective area
• Evaluates, incorporates and documents product changes throughout the software development life cycle
• Investigates, validates and contributes to resolution of reported product faults
• Reviews and contribute to product release documentation
  Mentors less experienced product owners and assists in product training for various departments as required.

Education / Qualifications

•    Technical degrees/advanced degrees are preferred; with at least 5 years of direct HxGN EAM experience and 15 years of related industry experience required
•    Ability to architect solutions
•    Domain knowledge of discrete and process manufacturing, and/or public sector industries (transportation, wastewater, facilities management) is beneficial
•    Working knowledge of Jira and Aha! is advantageous
•    Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•    The ability to handle multiple projects
•    Effective communication and leadership skills
•    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
•    Ability to effectively deliver informative, well-organized presentations
•    Strong business analysis skills – requirements gathering, documentation (requirements and technical), process mapping, etc.
•    Able to collaborate with team members in multiple time zones
