Job SummaryAllegiance is looking for a full-time, experienced Director of Aftermarket Product Management. The successful Director strives to return a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. Accomplishes objectives by developing parts programs encompassing purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising. The Director of Aftermarket Product Management reports to the SVP of Parts Procurement and Pricing.Β RESPONSIBILITIES:β’ Β Β Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.β’ Β Β Establishes vendor relationships.Β β’ Β Β Establishes parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turns.β’ Β Β Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.β’ Β Β Work with suppliers to create stock order procedures.β’ Β Β Negotiates all facets of parts programs to create incremental sales and gross profit for the companies including but not limited to: ordering and replenishment, freight free minimums, branding (private label), insurance coverages, marketing, joint sales efforts with suppliers.β’ Β Β Develops and administers an aggressive wholesale parts program to produce profit.β’ Β Β Ensures that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers.β’ Β Β Attends managers meetings and holds monthly department meetings.β’ Β Β Analyzes departmental operations for maximum efficiency (receiving/invoicing etc)β’ Β Β Maintains online resource for product reference on private label products available and program parameters (freight free min, emergency orders, warranty policies, returns, core process).β’ Β Β Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to processing of SDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA Right-to-Know.β’ Β Β Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales.β’ Β Β Maintains professional appearance.β’ Β Β Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the private label program.β’ Β Β Spend 30% of time in the field at locations (Allegiance/Ascendance branches)SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:β’ Β Β Directly supervises employees in the Corp Parts Operations.Β β’ Β Β Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and motivating employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QUALIFICATIONS:β’ Β Β Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.β’ Β Β Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.β’ Β Β Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, margins, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, apply concepts of basic math.β’ Β Β Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
