We do that by offering a diverse range of payment and cashflow tools, from a wide range of traditional card products, to working capital and supply chain financing, to new digital solutions that make it easy for our customers to manage a full range of their financial and payment needs.

We’re looking for undergraduate level interns to support the Global Commercial Services (GCS) product vision as a Product Management Intern. The successful candidate will own the product strategy for one of our commercial products and play a central role identifying customer needs, building outstanding experiences, and leading partners to manage and market these products. This is a fast-paced team driving the development of commercial customer solutions at American Express.Β

Responsibilities

How will you make an impact in this role?
As a GCS Product Management Intern, you will:
β€’Β Β Β Β Develop business cases for new products, features and customer experiences.
β€’Β Β Β Β Analyze customer feedback, market trends, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and inform product strategy
β€’Β Β Β Β Synthesize data, analytics, and financial insights to develop recommendations.
β€’Β Β Β Β Support product management processes, including, maintaining product backlogs, prioritizing features, and documenting key product and operational processes
β€’Β Β Β Β Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Finance, Technology, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
β€’Β Β Β Β Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program
β€’Β Β Β Bachelor’s degree candidates with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028

Preferred Qualifications
β€’Β Β Β Β Demonstrated interest in commercial payments, digital products, and product management.
β€’Β Β Β Β Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear insights and recommendations.
β€’Β Β Β Β Intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn about the evolving payments landscape and emerging technologies.
β€’Β Β Β Β Ability to collaborate with and build strong relationships with leaders, colleagues across different time zones, and cross-functional partners to deliver value.
β€’Β Β Β Β Strong project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
β€’Β Β Β Β Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
β€’Β Β Β Β Demonstrated resilience, proactive mindset, and a willingness to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
β€’Β Β Β Β Proficiency in analytical and presentation tools, including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
β€’Β Β Β Β Experience using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, etc.) to enhance research, analysis, problem solving, and productivity.Β
