Role overview. As a Senior Product Manager – Access and Integrations within Pearson Higher Education, you will specialize in understanding and advocating for the needs of our customers using Pearson course materials. You will focus on how a variety of personas access Pearson products and how to best integrate our experience across the Higher Education Institutional ecosystem. You will drive innovative ideas, solutions, processes, and products with decisive action. You will work collaboratively with other product management teams across Pearson to ensure integrated use cases are considered and supported, and you will work directly with development teams who build features specifically geared toward improving the integration and access journey of our customers. You will become an expert in the Pearson systems and tools that enable customers to adopt, integrate, purchase, and synchronize the actions within Pearson courseware to LMS, SIS, and bookstore systems. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is detail-oriented and able to manage complex projects. The candidate must be a team player and strong communicator who can build relationships with stakeholders on various teams and levels across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop expertise in a portfolio of solutions to reduce friction in users’ access and onboarding journey.
  • Serve as technical product manager for new integration feature development, creating requirements, managing backlog, prioritizing development, and engaging directly with the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with UX, CX, product managers, and other cross-functional teams across Higher Education to ensure access and integration use cases are understood and requirements are implemented according to user needs.
  • Lead and support continual process improvement by proposing and solutioning optimizations for access and integration workflows and user experiences.
  • Work with Manager/Director of Product Management to define product roadmap and growth opportunities.
  • Assist in the creation of product-related documentation and go-to-market activities.
  • Analyze usage data and customer feedback to inform roadmap and prioritization of requirements.
  • Think from a data-first mentality, incorporating data wherever possible for informed decision-making and development.
  • Develop rapport and trust with key stakeholders across Higher Education, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), and Digital & Technology (D&T) teams.

Competencies, Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or a minimum of 4+ years' experience in product/program management or software development.
  • Demonstrated prior experience leading cross-functional projects and building cross-platform solutions.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems.
  • Experience building and managing APIs, technical integrations, or platforms.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering teams to design scalable solutions.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and prioritizing backlogs for development teams; experience with Jira and Confluence is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize roadmaps and workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, for both technical and non-technical topics.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong listener, with the ability to interview customers and stakeholders to understand what problems we need to solve for and translate those into product requirements.
  • Strong team-player attitude, with the ability to work well independently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to successfully work on a virtual team.

Compensation

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows: The minimum full-time salary starts at $110,000, dependent upon experience. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.Β Β
